Summit Tennis Rules
Any use of the tennis facility other than as set forth in these rules must be presented to the Tennis Chairperson and approval by the Summit Board of Directors. All members are expected to comply with these rules. Violations should be reported to the Tennis Chairperson and can result in the suspension of court access, without refund of the annual membership fee, at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
The tennis courts are open from 8AM to 11PM. Reservations are recommended.
Anyone using the tennis courts must be properly attired.

Tennis Teams
A “team” is a group of players engaging in officially sanctioned league play such as ALTA or USTA.

All members are expected to comply with these rules. Violations should be reported to the Tennis Chairperson and can result in the suspension of court access, without refund of the annual membership fee, at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

Anyone using the tennis courts must be properly attired.
- A top must be worn at all times.
- Tennis shoes must be worn while playing. Running shoes and other softer soles are not permitted as they will leave marks on the court surface.
Age Guidelines
- Children under age 7 are not allowed within the fenced area without adult supervision.
Guests
- Guests on either court must be accompanied by a member.
- Use of the courts for instructional purposes is permissible but such use is subject to all rules, including time and court limits.
- A key fob will be issued to each member's family. It is the responsibility of each member to make sure the tennis courts are locked and all lights turned off upon the completion of play.
Pets
- Please keep pets off the tennis courts. Tennis courts are detrimental to dog paws due to their abrasive surfaces, the potential for burns from heat, and the risk of injuries from slipping or running on them.
Reserving the Courts
- A reservation should be made online on yourcourts.com Each membership (family/household) will receive an email from yourcourts.com. This email will direct you to sign up for your username and password.
- Members must have a reservation to use the courts unless they are empty when you arrive. If someone shows up while you are playing and they have reserved the courts online, then you will have to respect their online reservation and give the court to them.
- If at least two players are not present 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time the reservation is forfeited. If reserved time is forfeited, play shall proceed on a first come-first-served basis until the next reserved time.
- Reservations may be for a maximum of a 2-hour period, per day.
- Reservations may be made up to two weeks prior to the date of play.
- A limit of one court during the same time period, per household membership applies. If a second court is needed for group lessons or special events, please contact the Tennis Chair to arrange.
- Court time can also be waitlisted via the reservation system in case of
cancellation. - In fairness to other members, please cancel reservations if your plans change and you are not going to use the court.
Note: The above limits are waived within 48 hours of start time. At that time, if the: court is open, you may book additional time. - The Tennis Chairperson/Team Captains have the authority to book courts farther out for longer periods of time for authorized ALTA and USTA team practices and match play.
- If a team/flex league match has not finished during their allotted time, please allow flexibility to allow the match(es) to be completed.
Tennis Teams
A “team” is a group of players engaging in officially sanctioned league play such as ALTA or USTA.
- All “teams” must be approved by the Tennis Chairperson. Summit members on other teams are subject to non-team member time and court limits,
- Any member who wishes to join a tennis team should contact the Tennis Chair [email protected].
- Summit teams are allowed to reserve both the tennis courts for home matches and two consecutive hours, excluding weekends, for practice. The Tennis Chairperson can assist with rescheduling due to rain-outs.
- At least one member of all tennis teams which play on the Summit courts must be a member of the Summit Community Association.
- Non-association authorized team members may only use the courts during practices and matches unless accompanied by an association member.
- Adult tennis team members who do not belong to the Community Association must pay a fee of $50 per person, per season to the Summit Community Association.
- Team captains are to submit a copy of the team roster indicating non-members to the Tennis Chairperson prior to the beginning of the season. Key fobs allowing access to the courts will be issued to Team captains upon registration of the team with the Tennis Chairperson and may only be used for authorized court use as stated in these rules.
